He has more than 25 years' experience in leading and managing projects and teams, national educational policy and strategy work, feasibility studies, institutional benchmarking re technology enabled learning, evaluation of blended courses from a pedagogical perspective, curriculum development and training, a variety of ed tech consulting, training and implementation on primary, secondary, TVET and university level interacting with government representatives, NGOs, academics, senior educational administrators, teachers and trainers.
He has done educational projects in the Pacific (Tonga, Samoa, Papua New Guinea, Pacific general for EU), Asia (India, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and SE Asia in general for UNICEF), in the African-Caribbean-Pacific regions in general, and many in Africa (Botswana, South Africa, Liberia, Kenya, Ghana), as well as Australia and New Zealand.

- Dr Uys has been an educational leader and manager in tertiary and higher education for over 20 years.

- He has 20 years' experience in senior educational leadership positions; seven years' experience in knowledge management, 24 years in educational technologies, 15 years in learning and teaching, and 18 years in information and communication technologies (ICTs); the majority of this experience was gained as practitioner but he was also a full time senior lecturer in adult education for seven years (in New Zealand)
